Elmo

Yes, that little furry thing you see in Seaseme Street, who sings his song.
"La la la la, it's the Elmo song...."

Years ago, in a class I taught, the kids and I shared this song on one occassion. I remembered Benjamin, who was the lead singer that day. He led the class into a spontaneous mood of singing. From then on, it's la la la la for the class, it marks the day when kids are elmoies and the teacher a elmo!

These are one of those beautiful moments captured into my heart and some of the elmoies. Till date, we remember... These lovely children, they know me quite a bit. My love for dolphins, dogs, elmo and silly stuff. A kiddish teacher was I, don't get me wrong, I teach the real stuff! However, being real to the kids did get many of them to be who they are. I believe in respect and true love showered upon them. My gauge metre on anger can never last long, the out burst of it is usually soothed with little notes they write or smiles they give. The care and concern shown with one another was amazing. The bond created that lasted till now was a gift.

This website is introduced and was created with the time one of my bubbly elmoie has. I remember her as someone really shy. She behaves really well in class. She takes pride in her school work, leadership and friendships. Her journals to me was endless and each time she writes to me, it never fails to put a smile on my stressed-out face. Her eagerness in getting a reply, gosh, it nearly killed me! Sweet-natured and I am starting to realise she is like me. She treasures people around her. Though I am not her teacher anymore, my relationship with her continues to blossom with the online sessions whenever we can. Once again, thank you Rury, for being who you are, so real to me and allowing me to reach out to you. Thanks for touching my life! You will, like the rest, have a special place in my heart...

And... here we go, "La la la la, it's the Elmo song...", did I mention, it is my message tone now!
